We do weddings the sustainable way

Floral & Brick weddings use 100% locally grown flowers and greenery, with a focus on incorporating native plants that have been grown and harvested ethically. We use reusable mechanics (no floral foam!) in our arrangements. We grow flowers on our micro-farm and in our city gardens, and we let the seasons guide our floral designs.

Intention over Excess

We believe that it is important to not be wasteful in the use of flowers at an event. Flowers are a product of nature and when we harvest them we do not want to deplete nature’s resources, but rather to select some of the most beautiful stems to shine at your event, while leaving the rest for the wildlife.

Creating intentional flower moments rather than jam-packing a room full of flowers is a way to pay respect to the natural state of flowers and allow guests to appreciate all the details while being reminded of where the flowers came from, rather than just seeing them as an inanimate excessive part of the decor. Let’s all connect with nature at our most special events through intentional floral design.

Designs may look quite different depending on the season, as we work with garden-grown plants when they bloom naturally. We focus on a more wild, natural look as that is what nature usually provides! We do also grow a small number of classic romantic wedding flowers to include strategically, such as in bridal bouquets. For example, depending on season we may have double tulips, peonies, lisianthus, garden roses, and dahlias.

We only take on a small number of weddings per year in order to allow our gardens to continue to thrive and to allow enough flowers to remain for the pollinators and wildlife.

We do not have a minimum spend, but rather look for clients who have a shared value of sustainability and who are excited by the thought of working with what is in season. Typically our pricing for full wedding floral service falls between $3000-$6000 for a package that includes personal flowers, reception centrepieces, a ceremony installation, and delivery and setup.
