Join Natasha of Floral & Brick to learn how to plan a cutting garden in any sized space. We will discuss floral design principles such as elements of an arrangement, shape, texture, and colour, and how to make decisions about what to plant based on these. Tips and tricks will be shared for starting and caring for seedlings, as well as planting them out in your garden. You will receive a full tray for seed starting, and we will start them together*. You will also receive a copy of Floral & Brick’s Guide to Cut Flowers, with information about a wide range of cut flowers, how they are used in arrangements, and how to grow them.
Part two of this workshop will be in July, where we discuss how to harvest flowers for arrangements, and after a floral design demonstration you will put together your own arrangement to take home.
*You will need grow lights at home for the seeds to grow properly. These can be purchased at your local hardware store. If you don’t wish to purchase this you can still take seeds home in a packet to plant directly in your garden later in the spring.
